Hip pain and Knee injuries

Poor foot function is closely linked to many conditions in the hip and knee complex. But did you know, it also goes the other way? Weakness in the hip often creates issues in the knee and foot during weight-bearing movements.

Conditions we treat:

  • Hip bursitis
  • Meniscus degeneration/tears
  • ACL and other ligament injuries
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Femoroacetabular impingement
  • Labral tears
  • Osteitispubis syndrome
  • Fractures
  • Hernias
  • Cam lesions of the hip
  • Leg length discrepancies
  • Joint subluxation
  • Surgical interventions (replacements/arthroscopes)

How we can help:

  • Gait re-training (learning to walk/run correctly)
  • Improve foot function
  • Barefoot strength training
  • Hip specific strengthening
  • Pelvic and core stability programs
  • Footwear education and prescriptions
  • Proprioception and balance training
  • Pre/Rehabilitation
  • Joint Mobilisation
  • Manual and soft tissue therapy
  • Orthoses prescription (we try avoid if possible)
  • Prolotherapy Injections to the foot and knee
