Protect, Strengthen, Recover

Relief and Recovery from Achilles Injuries

The Achilles tendon is a key part of your ankle, connecting your calf to your heel. It’s essential for walking, running and jumping—but it’s also prone to injury. Common problems include sudden tears or long-term wear and weakness, which can lead to pain, stiffness, and reduced performance.

Our podiatrists can help by assessing your movement, strengthening your Achilles and surrounding muscles, improving your gait, correcting footwear, and guiding your recovery with personalised training plans. We also offer bulk-billed ultrasound and x-ray referrals to check injury severity.

Mild cases may resolve in a few weeks with the right care, while chronic tendinopathy or ruptures can take several months. Early treatment usually leads to quicker recovery.

Short answer – YES! Tendon’s love load. BUT not all load is safe when dealing with an Achilles injury. A podiatrist will guide you on safe movement, running or walking load and rehabilitation.
